Sending A Book To Lee Strobel

In August of 2008, I was about 50% done with the first copy of my book, In Case of Armageddon, Break Glass, and I was on cloud 9. In the midst of being so excited that I was half way done, I got the idea to go to Lee Strobel’s site and ask if I could include a digital copy of The Case for Christ Gift Edition for all of my readers.

Surprisingly, 3 days later, I got an email back saying that they’d love to have me mail them my book, and they’d forward it on to Lee! Now, not only did I think that was the best answer I could have gotten (I knew they wouldn’t just send me a link…) but it also piqued my interest in the possibility of having someone at Zondervan read my book. Getting noticed by, and possibly published by Zondervan would be awesome!

But God had other plans. Here it is, almost 18 months later, and my book is finally done, finally on the Amazon shelves, and I seemed to have forgotten that I have a mailing address that I can send a book to that will get to Lee (I hope, it could be a cookie cutter response to unknown authors soliciting book reviews from him… But I’m going to be optimistic and say it’s not).

I just sent another message to his team to verify that the address is still the same – to make sure they didn’t switch PO Boxes, and the person whose name I was sending it to didn’t leave the organization. I don’t forsee being told no, as I already have an address. I just hope they get back with me soon, so I can get it in the mail.

I think in order for this to do anything but waste $5 of my money for the book & shipping, I am going to need a lot of prayer that the right person gets ahold of it, reads it, and likes it. Whether it’s Lee, one of his staff, or someone at Zondervan, it doesn’t matter – as long as it’s the person God has in mind.

So, would you pray for this for me? I think that ICoA could do a lot of good if it was picked up by a publisher and marketed properly, and while I’m making strides to “build a platform” and whatnot, it could be done much faster by an established name in the industry.

I’ll keep you all informed.
